JAC T9 Sets New 24-Hour Endurance Record in South Africa
JAC Motors has carved its name into South Africa’s automotive history books by breaking the national 24-hour endurance record for bakkies. Covering a remarkable 4,084km at an average speed of 170.1km/h, the JAC T9 proved its strength, resilience and engineering excellence at the Gerotek high-speed oval outside Pretoria.
This landmark achievement unfolded over 24 hours of non-stop driving, showcasing the durability of the T9’s 2.0L turbo-diesel engine.
Despite having no pit crew or advanced refuelling systems, the team kept the bakkie moving with minimal delays, powered by determination and smart engineering choices.

The JAC T9 ran on premium diesel and full synthetic 10W-40 engine oil – a formulation recently introduced across the JAC range to offer improved thermal stability and wear protection.
